Sathiarany Vong is Deputy Director of Preventive Medicine Department, Ministry of Health, Cambodia. She works in the area of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and has managed the NCDs program focusing mainly on risk factors causing cardio-vascular diseases, cancers, chronic respiratory disease, and diabetes. Prior to work with the NCDs program, she has engaged in the Environmental and Disaster Management Unit where she has built her capacity and knowledge on environmental-social safeguard, health impact assessment, and the impact of climate changes on health. She has over 20 years experience in maternal and child health, managing the Program of Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV (PMTCT) for approximately 7 years. She has worked for UNFPA Cambodia for approximately 2 years, managing the Reproductive Health Program. She obrained her master of Primary Health Care from Flinders University, South Australia and MD from University of Health Sciences, Cambodia. She has also pursued a number of short training courses updating her knowledge and experiences.
