The Pacific Basin Consortium has convened a major international conference every eighteen months to two years. Principal conference objectives include technical transfer in the areas of environmental and human health to students and young professionals from rapidly-developing nations in the Pacific Rim, and encouragement of network development among academics and other professionals in environmental/human health and related areas of engineering.

2019 Conference

The 18th International  Conference of the Pacific Basin Consortium for Environment and Health, ” Assessing and Mitigating Environmental Exposures in Early Life’, will be held 16 – 19 September 2019 in Kyoto, Japan.

2017 Conference

The 17th International Conference of the Pacific Basin Consortium for Environment and Health, hosted by the Public Health Foundation of India, ‘Environmental health and sustainable development’, was held in Delhi, India, from 14-17 November, 2017.

2015 Conference

The 16th International Conference of the Pacific Basin Consortium for Environment and Health, “Human and Environmental Health Risk Factors in the Pacific Basin” was held at the University of Indonesia, in Depok, West Java, Indonesia from 10-13 August, 2015.

The meeting proceedings were published in Reviews on Environmental Health.

NIEHS and the World Health Organization (WHO) convened a workshop at the conference, focused on strategies to reduce exposure to e-waste.

 

2013 Conference

The 15th International Conference of the Pacific Basin Consortium for Environment and Health, “Environmental Exposure in Indigenous Communities” was held at the East-West Center, Honolulu, Hawaii from 24-27 September, 2013.

The meeting proceedings were published in Reviews on Environmental Health.

 

2012 Conference

The 14th International Conference of the Pacific Basin Consortium for Environment and Health was held at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, Republic of Korea, April 10-13, 2012. The conference, ‘The Geochemistry of Hazardous Substances – Human Health and Ecological Health Risk Factors’ was attended by over 120 participants representing more than 18 countries.
