The 19th International Conference of the Pacific Basin Consortium for Environment and Health was held on Jeju Island, South Korea from 29 Aug-1 Sept 2022. The meeting was hosted by the International Environmental Research Institute (IERI) and Gwangju Institute of Science & Technology (GIST).

Meeting theme: Environmental exposures in a changing climate.

Meeting structure: The meeting consisted of 3 training workshops designed for students, junior faculty, and early career researchers, 5 plenary sessions, 6 symposia, a poster presentation session, and a dedicated unopposed session for student oral presentations.

Traditional PBC conference themes are advancing environmental health sciences, promoting translation of scientific knowledge to action, and enhancing environmental health sciences through stewardship and support.

Travel grants for students/trainees

  1. Advancing Research for Children’s Environmental Health non-profit organisation intended to support pre-and post-doctoral students. ARCeH offered a limited number of travel support grants ($500USD) to students who submit an abstract which is selected for Oral presentation.
  2. The Pacific Basin Consortium for Environmental and Health offered a limited number of grants to cover partial cost of travel for speakers selected from abstracts to give oral presentations. Student and Early Career researchers, who would not otherwise be able to attend were given priority.
