Dr. Seah is a full-time researcher at the International Environmental Research Institute (IERI), Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST). She earned her Ph.D. from the Department of Environment and Energy Engineering at GIST in 2019, where she built a foundation in environmental geochemistry.

Her research applies stable isotope techniques (δ¹⁸O, δD) to trace water movement, quantify evaporation and recharge processes, and elucidate climate–water interactions across scales. During the early stages of her career, she investigated geochemical cycling and trace-metal mobilization in rivers, soils, and sediments, with a particular focus on contaminant transport. She has been involved in multiple interdisciplinary projects in the Mekong River Basin since her doctoral studies. In 2020, she was awarded a grant from the Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN) to support collaborative research on transboundary water security in the basin.

In her current role at IERI, Dr. Seah manages research program funding and spearheads capacity-building and networking initiatives, coordinating international partnerships and organizing workshops and training sessions to advance climate mitigation and adaptation in developing countries.
