Dr. López-Carrillo is the Principal Investigator in a study on the environmental exposure to inorganic arsenic and metals, phthalates, bisphenol A, and organochlorine pesticides and its contribution to breast cancer risk in Mexican women. Another line of research is the relationship of maternal pesticide exposure with child neurodevelopment. Dr. López-Carrillo is currently collaborating in an interdisciplinary project on the factors associated with childhood leukemia in Mexico, which aims to evaluate pesticides exposure, epigenomics, metabolomics, and risk perception; it also seeks to create a biological repository for future evaluation of exposures.
