
Dr. Guofeng Shen is a research scientist and Tenure-track Assistant Professor at Peking University. His research interests and experiences are in sustainable household energy and environment, largely focusing on fates, impacts and controls of hazardous pollutants produced from indoor solid fuel use that is an important indicator of sustainable development. He is also interested in and has participated in some field studies on emerging pollutants. As the principal investigator, Dr. Shen has received funding from the National Natural Science Foundation (NSF), Chinese Academy of Science, United Nation Foundations, etc., including the outstanding youth science foundation from China NSF, and the overseas high-level young talents program. He has published > 150 peer-reviewed research papers in international journals including Nature Communications, Nature Human Behavior, Nature Energy, Science Advance, PNAS, National Science Review, Environmental Science & Technology, Environment International, Environment Pollution, with >6000 citations and H index of 46 (google scholar data). He serves as the proposal reviewer for many science funding agencies, and manuscript reviewer for many high-ranked journals, including Science, Nature Medicine, Nature Communications, ES&T, Environ. Health Perspective, ES&T Letter, etc. He was awarded ES&T Super Review Award (2020), Excellence in Review Award (2019), and ES&T Letters Excellence in Review Award (2018).
